GENERAL MEETING TALK – Cycling Across the USA
At the GENERAL MEETING there will be a talk entitled “Cycling Across the USA” by Trish Farnham
Tricia and Bill have lived in Hampshire for 40 years. Bill was a lecturer in Marine Biology at Portsmouth University and Tricia taught biology at Highbury College, Cosham. Both are keen cyclists and have been members of the Portsmouth Cyclists’ Touring Club since 1986.
Cycling across the USA
Tricia and Bill decided it would be interesting and a challenge to cycle right across the USA on their own. They were aware of a route called the TransAm Trail, which was devised by American cyclists. The route is over 4,000 miles long. They decided to do the western half of the trail during their summer holiday of 2006 and the eastern half during summer 2008.
