We aim to help people to use their computer more efficiently and to expand their knowledge.
The topics covered are primarily led by the needs of the group but is based around Word processing, using the internet, attachments, dealing with problems, using eMail, along with looking at various free software that may help the members in pursuit of their hobbies and interests.
We are able to offer help to people with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Members will need to have an eMail address to receive information.
A summary of the topics covered appears on this webpage following the meeting to help with revision and is also emailed to members.
New members are welcome and we are happy to help with any problem. Members need to have their own laptop, netbook or computer to be able to practice the skills covered. We can also help individuals on a 1-1 basis in their homes if needed.
The computer group has found a new meeting venue. We now meet at The Church of the Resurrection in Drayton on the second Tuesday of the month. There is a small charge of £2 for the hire of the room.
If you are interested in joining the group please contact Joyce on the email address below or at a U3A general meeting.
The computer group is also able to offer a ‘drop-in’ service for any member of Portsdown U3A who would like help using their computer or Internet to help in the pursuit of their interest group. There is no need or requirement to join the computer group itself.
