Portsdown u3a belongs to the Third Age Trust whose main purpose is to encourage lifelong learning for those no longer in full time employment.

u3a VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together not for qualifications but for the sheer joy of discovery.

Many activities are in small groups and held in member’s home, but the larger groups are held in local venues where each member pays a small amount towards the venue’s rent. These groups, irrespective of size, are where the members share skills and life experiences.

You can participate in as many available activities/groups as you wish, if there are spaces available.

There is a programme of Speakers, throughout the year, at our monthly meetings held at Cosham Baptist Church, Havant Road.

The meetings occur on the third Wednesday of the month from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with refreshments available after the talk – except in August.

Meetings are free to members but non-members pay £3.00 per meeting. This is the opportunity to meet and socialise with other members and visitors, listen to a speaker on a topic of general interest and find out what else the u3a is up to.

Membership of Portsdown u3a costs £20.00 per annum and the subscription year runs from April.
