DecemberEven though the weather conditions were bad, thank you to all who came to our meeting.  We that a few quizzes, and some eats. Thank you to all who contributed to making it a very good afternoon.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members who give so much time in either helping to run groups, or are on the committee. Without them there would be no organization. We wish all our members a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS and an  active NEW YEAR.
NovemberThis Month as usual was our A.G.M. We are sorry that John Gill has had to stand down as Chairman, but we are not losing him as he is going to be our Vice Chairman to help Josephine Burgess, who has kindly agreed to stand for Chairperson. Josephine is also busy as our Speaker Secretary, and we are very grateful for all they do for us. We are also sorry to lose Audrey Evans and Margaret Cowie. Thank you for all you have done. We welcome four new committee members and thank them for coming forward.  We hope that thing will carry on running smoothly. New ideas are always welcome, and with larger numbers we will hopefully be able to start some new interest groups. We would like to take this time to also thank all our members who lead interest groups, we appreciate all their hard work .

We have no speaker next month, as it is our A.G.M. We hope that you will come along and give us your support in making vital decisions that will effect all our members. Unfortunately our Chairman must stand down, and it is up to you to decide who should replace him, so please come along. It is your chance to add your voice.
September:Many thanks to Paula Day for stepping in at the last minute, and many thanks for all her useful advice on how to stay safe and healthy in later life. I am sure we will heed her words, and follow up on the many free facilities that are available to us. With lots of informative  leaflets to read, I hope there is something for everyone.
Our next Speaker is one of our members. She has done several trips to China, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it! If you would like to hear her you are welcome to come and visit us.
June:What a lovely treat! Thank you to Lyndon Hatfield for an interesting talk on "Hearing Dogs for the Deaf", and to be able to see Pixie a puppy in training. She was a very pretty black Cocker Spaniel, Poodle cross, and very well behaved.  It was interesting to find out how the Charity came about, and how it has developed.  It was also good to now had they used some rescue dogs in their training programme.
Next month, the last before the summer recess, is "I don't wish to complain BUT..." by Gwen Appleton. It is about experiences within the Travel Industry, so it could be very funny! I hope you will come and visit us, and we look forward to meeting you.
